The Virginia Discovery Museum has been closed to the public since mid-March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, VDM will forfeit an anticipated $100,000 in revenue, which will have a profound impact on the Museum's long-term financial health. VDM is grateful for the opportunity to partner with local businesses and organizations in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area on charitable-giving endeavors to raise money and awareness for the Museum, which will allow us to survive these challenging times, share educational resources with families while we are closed, and reopen to the public as soon as it is safe.
“Summer Saturdays” at Wildrock
July 11 & 25, 2020 | 1-Hour Reservations | $60/Group*
VDM has partnered with Wildrock to raise money for the Museum and bring some fun, educational, outdoor play to families looking to explore nature in a safe, socially-distanced setting. Reserve an hour of exploration and play for a group of eight people or fewer in Wildrock's 3-acre Nature Playscape, which features a splash-worthy wading stream, Sally-Mander the climbable giant oak salamander, a Hobbit House, and more! Plus, groups will receive three take-home nature-themed activities, created by the VDM staff, from different stations around the playscape. All proceeds support VDM.
