Mission:
The Virginia Discovery Museum brings young children and families together to engage minds, excite imaginations and explore the world around them.
 
Admission:
$6 per person, all ages (under 1 year old free)
Children must be accompanied by an adult
Museum Members: Free
ASTC and ACM Reciprocal Members: Free
$0.50 AAA discount per person with card

Parking:
Two hours free parking at Market Street Parking Garage
(5th & Market) or Water Street Parking Garage
(3rd & Water) with museum
validation. Have ticket stamped at front desk. NOTE: GPS address for the Market Street Parking Garage is 500 East Market Street.
Directions:
From Interstate 64: Take Exit 120 (5th Street)
and head north towards Charlottesville. Go 2.3 miles
to the 6th traffic light (Intersection of Preston,
McIntire and East Market) and take a right onto
East Market (just past McDonald's). Go 7 blocks
to the Parking Garage entrance on your right. Take
the Main Street elevator to the ground level. The
Museum is across the brick pedestrian mall to the
left, opposite the US Post Office. We will validate
your parking ticket for two free hours of parking.
From Monticello: From Route 20 South (Monticello),
take I-64 West to next exit (Exit 120-5th Street)
and follow directions above.
From Route 29 North: Exit onto Route 250
East Bypass (toward Richmond). Go to 3rd traffic
light (1.8 miles), turn right onto McIntire Road.
Bear left at the first light. At the second traffic light turn
left onto Preston Avenue, which immediately becomes
Market Street. Go 7 blocks to the Parking Garage
entrance on your right (at 6th Street). Take the
Main Street elevator to the ground level. The Museum
is across the brick pedestrian mall to the left,
opposite the US Post Office. We will validate your
parking ticket for two free hours of parking!
From Route 29 South: Exit onto I-64 East
