The Virginia Discovery Museum, in cooperation with the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and the Virginia Association of Museums, is proud to host the local exhibition of New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music, a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition. Through a selection of photographs, recordings, instruments, lyrics and artist profiles, the exhibit will explore the distinct cultural identities of American roots music forms.
The Virginia Discovery Museum will be having an exciting series of concerts and workshops for young children in conjunction the New Harmonies exhibit.

at the Virginia Discovery Museum or at the door.
All shows will be held at Cityspace, located at
100 5th Street NE, just across from the Museum
on the Downtown Mall. Two hours free parking
with validation.
Music Together Drop in Classes
Hosted by Blue Ridge Music Together
Drop in to sing, dance and play instruments in these joyful classes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their caretakers. At 10:45 on Fridays during the New Harmonies exhibit, October 24, October 31, November 7, November 14 and November 21.
