Date Night Drop-Off
Fridays from 5:30-8:00pm
Ages 3 - 8 Children must be potty-trained
Members $20 per child/Non-members $25 per child
Pre-registration required/Space is limited to 12 children per week.
This pre-registration drop-off program includes a craft, games, cheese pizza and carrot sticks, fruit juice, and lots of free time to play in the Museum! Space is limited to 12 children per week and will not run without a minimum of 4 children. Registrants will be notified by 5pm on the night before the program if we need to cancel.
Payment is due when child is registered for program.
VDM Members $20/ Non-members $25 (siblings discount $5). Cancellation fee of $10 after 12pm on the day before registered program. No refund for same-day cancellation.

Yogadoodle
Tuesdays, September 14 - October 5

For VDM members only! Free, preregistration required
Guest instructor Lynn Campbell will introduce kids to Yogadoodle, a fusion of traditional yoga postures and creative expression. Children learn postures to help experience their physical sense while exploring sight, soung and stillness with their peers.
Hollywood Theatre Lab

Lana Young returns with a full course of classes! This 12-week session will teach children how to perform while exploring their imagaination in a safe and fun environment. Fun and focused exercies teach children how to listen to their scene partners and build communication skills. They will learn basic stage technique, how to break down scrips and how to find their objective as the character. The goal--teaching life skills through acting--is to build self-esteem and confidence while showing children how to find truth in a character.
Speak! Language Center Presents: European Vacation
Wednesdays, September 22 - November 17

Grab your passports, pack your imagination and get ready to explore three of the world's languages and cultures. Each session includes an interactive language lesson (songs, stories and games) and an introduction to each country. Dance the Flamenco in Spain; discover the artistic wonders of the Louvre (and French bread!) in Paris; learn to pronounce (and order!) a rainbow of gelato flavors in Italy; and find our what games children play in all of these countries.

Fall Festivals and Halloween celebrations are traditional ways of celebrating autumn in America, but how to other countries and cultures celebrate this change of seasons? Make sugar skulls and learn about Latin America's Day of the Dead celebrations, fly a kite as part of Nepal's Festival of Dasain, and much more! Snack provided.

Voting makes America a better place. Read books about voting, make a button to share one of your important ideas for impoving our country, and more. Snack provided.

Brownie Try-It Programs
The Virgina Discovery Museum is pleased to offer a new opportunity for Brownie Scout Troops to do four Try-Its.

- Science in Action
- Puppets, Dolls and Plays
- Art to Wear
Cost is $9 per Brownie for the two hour program, most materials, certificate of completion, and time to enjoy the Museum's galleries. Try-It programs are available Saturdays 10:30 - 12:30 for groups of 10 - 16 girls. Contact Sara or Kelly at 434-977-1025 x9 or vdmprograms@vadm.org with questions or to schedule your troop.
