Teddy Bear Tea Party

Celebrate Mother’s Day at the Virginia Discovery Museum’s Teddy Bear Tea Party! Bring your favorite teddy bear (or stuffed animal) and put on your finest clothes for an afternoon tea party. Make yourself (and teddy, too!) a fancy hat and flower while learning about the history of tea parties. Outdoor Designers: Colorful Birdhouses

2012 VDM Summer Camps
For the first time, VDM is extending its popular summer camp programs to 5 days! That means even more time for playing and learning about these fun topics. These camps fill up every year, so register soon!
All camps are for children ages 4-7 and
run 9:00am-12:00pm each day.
Registration fees: $150 members / $190 non-members.
Cancellation policy: Cancel two weeks or more before program, $10 fee. Cancel less than two weeks before program, $30 fee.

June 25-29: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Wings, wheels, and roaring engines. Learn about how cars are made, how boats float, and how jets take to the air. Make your own models and get ready for some racing fun.
July 9-13: Art Adventures
Take a journey through time to learn about many great artists and works of art while creating masterpieces of your own!
July 16-20: Mad Scientists
Can you make a rocket, make ice cream, or decipher invisible messages? Learn how as we explore the world around us through engineering, chemistry, biology, and more. Come find out how weird and fun science can be!
July 23-27: Animals around the World
Snakes, bears, whales and parrots! Travel the globe and discover the animals of the deserts, rainforests, oceans and sky.
August 6-10: Castles and Dragons
Have you ever wondered what it is like to live in a castle? Battle a dragon? Join us at this summer camp for an adventure through medieval life!
August 13-17: Ancient Egypt
Take a trip back in time and across the ocean to discover the mysterious secrets of Ancient Egypt! We will learn about pyramids, mummies, and more.
