Reading Room
Curl up with a good book in the quiet, cozy Literacy Lounge! Children’s early exposure to language varies widely, and some children have heard as many as 30 million fewer words than others by age 3, which affects vocabulary as well as general social and cognitive development. Read a story, discuss new words and practice them in conversation, and share thoughts and ideas about the books you’ve read. Please note that this room does contain two iPads to help children improve digital literacy through age-appropriate language, reading, counting, coding, and music apps.
